Willie Gene Byrd

Willie Gene Byrd, age 76 of Oneida, TN passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023, at his home.

He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Opal Harness Byrd; parents, Clovis and Hattie Byrd; and sister, Ella Ruth Jeffers.

Willie is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Carol Jackson Byrd; sister, Rita Lewallen and husband David; brothers, Jerry Byrd and wife Lois and Von Byrd; children, Zelma and husband Michael Newport, Jeannene and husband Rickey Harness; stepchildren, Vickie Phillips of Oneida, Ashley and husband Jeremy Hamm of KY, Anthony Jackson and Jeffery Johnson of Knoxville; Chris and wife Kathy Jackson of Oneida; grandchildren, Caleb Jackson, Shi Chitwood, James Chitwood, Thomas Chitwood; special granddaughter, Penolope Hamm; special niece, Carol Hamblin of Oneida; many other relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the Byrd family on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 after 6 p.m. at Second Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Funeral service will be on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Second Bethlehem Baptist Church with Bro. Tim Burchfield and Bro. Carlie Duncan officiating. Special singing will be by his church family, whom he loved, and friends.

Committal service will follow in the Fairview Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be: Chris Jackson, Caleb Jackson, Anthony Jackson, Jamie Byrd, and Michael Newport.
