Susie Coleman Taylor Obituary

Susie Coleman Taylor went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, April 4, 2022, at the Big South Fork Medical Center in Oneida. She was born on March 25, 1922 in Harrogate, TN to Charles Coleman and Lenora Hyatt, and was one of 10 children.

Susie was a long-standing member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Oneida, TN. She loved Bethlehem and especially her Sunday School Class and was a faithful member until the time she was unable to attend in person but continued her faithfulness by watching services on live broadcast.

Susie enjoyed taking trips to see other states and never met a stranger. If you ever met her one time you became part of her family. Her favorite thing in life was hard work. Until her health began to fail, she single-handedly grew, cultivated, and harvested a garden large enough to feed many people. In addition, she continued to mow her own lawn, and plant and maintain her flower beds.

Susie was one amazing lady. She wanted to reach 100 years of age, and she did that last month. Susie will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Susie was preceded in death by her husband, Chester L. Taylor and son, Robert C. (Bob) Taylor.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Roy; grandchildren, Johnny Hale, Jodie Brandenburg, Christy Taylor-Dameron, and Robert C. (Rob) Taylor; great grandchildren, Jacob Brandenburg, Maddie Brandenburg, Courtney Taylor and Zack Taylor; 3 half-brothers, Bill, Albert, and Johnny Coleman; daughters-in-law, Vicky C. Taylor and Susan C. Taylor; many other relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the Taylor family on Friday, April 8, 2022 from 4 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 5 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Dallas West officiating. Music will be provided by Dallas West and Vicky Taylor.

Committal service will follow in the Carson Memorial Park in Oneida. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
