Shellie Lynn Williams, age 55, of Helenwood, TN passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center with her loving family by her side. Shellie was born on July 22, 1968, in Scott County, TN to Boyd Thompson and Jean Sexton. She was a devoted wife and mother. To know her was to know that her boys were her entire world- she loved nothing more than cheering them on both on and off the sports fields. Shellie was an avid fan of LSU baseball and enjoyed going to concerts with her friends, and she prided herself in being “Ms. Shellie” to so many young kids who came through Ms. Patsy’s Playschool.
In addition to her parents and grandparents, she is preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Joyce King, brother-in-law, Keith Williams, uncles Mack Thompson, Charley, Albert, and Crow Sexton, and aunt Sue Griffith.
She is survived by her loving husband, Tony Williams, sons Matthew Williams and wife Shelby, and Lance Williams and wife Kira, grandbaby that she adored, Hattie Jane, sister-in-law, Collette Smith and husband Chris, nephew, Colby Lay and family (Kaylee, Vincent, and Cirilla), special children that she loved as her own Waylon, Silas, and Ivy Gail Terry, aunts and uncles Sandy (Mike) Crabtree, Milford Sexton, Louis (Judy) Sexton, Sheila (Gary) Byrd, Sharon Sexton, Charlie Griffith, JeanieSexton, and many other friends and family members.
Friends may visit with the Williams family on Sunday, September 24, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of West Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Davis officiating. Music will be provided by Mike and Elizabeth Carroll.
The committal service will be held on Monday, September 25, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the Daniel Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her boys and their friends whom she considered her own.
