Ruby Ellis

Ruby Irene Roberts Ellis, age 92, went home to be forever with her Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, August 8, 2022. Born on April 5, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Luther and Winnie Denny Roberts of Ritner, KY. Ruby was a faithful member of Middle Valley Baptist Church for many years. She was active in the women’s sewing group that sewed items for patients of Hospice of Chattanooga. She also was a volunteer for the Bethel Bible Thrift store for many years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Ellis; daughter-in-law, Pamela Jeanette Ellis; stepmother, Stella Roberts; brothers, Raymond (Della) Roberts, Charlie Roberts, Arnold (Chloe) Roberts, Clayton (Linda) Roberts; sisters, Tonnie (Marvin) Luttrell, Gladys (Ira) South, Betty (Marvin) Perry, Anna Faye (Conley) Burnette, and Hazel Roberts.

Ruby is survived by her children, Patricia (Jay) Cookston, Willie Michael Ellis, Gary (Gigi) Ellis; grandchildren, Leabertia (Jeff) Kent, Christian (Jennifer) Ellis, Frazier Ellis, Jason (Jennifer) Cookston, Jonathan (Amanda) Ellis; great grandchildren, Wyatt Kent, Blake and Madilynn Ellis, Trinity Higgins, Kelvin Ellis, Morgan Burnette, Audrey and Chase Cookston, and Luke Ellis; great granddaughter, Lillith Higgins; brothers, Donald (Bernice) Roberts, David (Kim) Roberts, Bobby and Kay Roberts; brother-in-law, Russell (Sharon) Ellis; many other relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the Ellis family on Friday, August 12, 2022 from 5 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 7 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Ashley Ellis officiating.

Committal service will be on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 11 a.m. in the Pine Hill Cemetery in Oneida. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
