Reverend John Madison Bolin went home to be with his Saviour and Lord March 29, 2023, at Aiken Regional Medical Center in Aiken, South Carolina with his wife, Martha, at his side.
John was born October 21, 1947, to James and Jewell Bolin in Greenville, Kentucky. He was raised in Owensboro, Kentucky where he met and married Martha Terry in 1965. John answered God's call to the ministry at his home church, Macedonia Baptist Church, in 1974. After graduating from Clear Creek Baptist College, John pastored a total of four churches: Virginia Lee Baptist Church in St. Charles, Virginia, Low Gap Baptist Church in Scott County, Tennessee, Main Street Baptist Church in Lake City, Tennessee, and finally Clearwater First Baptist Church in Clearwater, South Carolina for the past thirty-five plus years.
John loved His Lord and loved preaching His Word. He preached the inerrant, inspired, life changing Word of God unashamedly and unapologetically for over fifty years. John was widely known for conducting many weddings and funerals in the CSRA.
John was preceded in death by his parents, James and Jewell Bolin, a sister, Betty Bolin, and a nephew, Matthew Bolin.
In addition to his wife, Martha Bolin, John is survived by his daughter, Nikki Bolin; brothers, James (Margaret) and Barin (Martha), as well as two nieces and their children. He is also survived by a host of friends considered to be extended family as well. These are friends who have become well loved through a lifetime of shared experiences - both joyful and painful.
The family has decided in accordance with John's request to forego a funeral service.
The family requests any memorials be made to Clearwater First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 610, Clearwater, South Carolina 29822.
