Mary Helen Sexton Garrett, age 75 of Robbins, TN, passed away suddenly on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at the Turkey Creek Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. She was saved by God’s amazing grace. Born April 17, 1944 in Scott County, TN, she was the daughter of the late William Bill and Geneva Sexton of Robbins, TN.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister: Wanda Jean Griffith and husband Patton; Bobby Jean Ingram whom she loved like a brother; special sisters-in-law: Leona Garrett, and Elvie; brothers-in-law: Robert and James Garrett; nephew: Tommy Garrett; father and mother-in-law: Jeff and Lola Garrett.
Mary Helen is survived by her loving husband of 53 years: Harvey Garrett; special daughter: Henrietta Henry and husband Anthony; very special grandson: Dakota (Little Man) Henry which was her pride and joy; very special nephew and wife: Jimmy and Teresa Griffith; very special niece: Patti Griffith; very special great nephews: Jason and Mark Griffith; very special great niece: Jamie Marie Griffith; all of Robbins, TN; very special great-great nieces: Natalie Joy, Avery Hope and Kaylee Faith; very special great-great nephew: Bentley Eugene Griffith, all of Kingston, TN; very special cousins: Billy Joe and Cathy Bridgewater of Austin, IN, Jim and Sally Bridgewater of MI, and Howard York; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Friends may visit with the Garrett family on Sunday, January 19, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Griffith and Dakota Henry officiating. Music will be by Leisha Martin and Marilyn Byrge.
Committal service will be held on Monday, January 20, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in the Black Creek Cross Roads Cemetery in Robbins, TN. Pallbearers will be Anthony Henry, Dakota Henry, Chasery Sexton, Johnathan Massengale, Kevin Green, Terry Byrd, and Billy Joe Bridgewater. Honorary Pallbearer will be: Jason Monroe Griffith.
