Mack Arthur Thompson Obituary

Mack Arthur Thompson, age 77 of the Paint Rock Community, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at his home with his family by his side.  He was a born again Christian and a member of the Macedonia Christian Center.  He was also a very proud Veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Vietnam War.

He was born in Scott County, TN, on April 1, 1945, to the late Elizabeth Thompson.  In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his son:  Christopher Scott Thompson; brother:  Boyde (Bud) Thompson; grandparents:  who raised him, Mitchel and Florance Thompson; aunt, who was like a mother:  Rose Perkins; father and mother-in-law:  Hoyle and Ella Goodman; sister-in-law:  Donna Jeffers; brothers-in-law:  Hoyle Goodman, Jr., and J. V. Goodman.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years:  Annie Goodman Thompson; daughter:  Jessica Duncan and husband Randall of Oneida; grandkids:  Cheyanne and Ashton Duncan; niece:  Shelly Williams and husband Tony; special brothers-in-laws:  Vaughn Goodman and wife Tommy, and Curtis Goodman; and 4 brothers-in-law and 7 sisters-in-law; special friends:  Russell Anderson, David Anderson, and Russell Phillips; his brother in arms:  Tony Ashcraft, Luther Switzer, Amon Voiles, Gary Botts, Donald Jones, and Steve Chub; all of his church family, and many other family members and friends.  A special thank you to all his nurses from Amedisys.

Friends may visit with the Thompson family on Monday, October 24, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 3:00 p.m. at the Macedonia Christian Center with Bro. Randall Duncan officiating.  Music will be provided by the Chris Neal Family.

Committal service will follow in the Thompson Family Cemetery in Huntsville, TN.
