John Burchfield

John Fowler Burchfield, age 79 of Winfield, TN passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, KY. Born in Dean, TN on September 27, 1942, he was the son of the late Virgil and Mattie Burchfield.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his long-time partner, Katherine Sue Lowe; sisters, Sue Byrd and Maleia Reed; brother-in-law, DL Byrd; grandson, Mikey Burchfield; and sister-in-law, Mary Burchfield.

John is survived by sons, Paul David Burchfield and Shawn, Troy and Vanessa Burchfield; daughters, Melissa and Melvin Jeffers, Emily Burchfield, Melissa and Toby Jones; Sue’s children that he treated as his own, Wanda, Jennifer, Zamma, and Gloria; grandchildren, Kalyn, Colby, Adrianna, Jacelyn, Nena, Anthony, Courtney, Kyleigh, Braxton, Jonathan, Josiah, and Abigail; great grandson, Kade Lawson; brothers and sisters, Virgil and Phoebe Burchfield of Cocoa, Florida, Judith and Cecil Strunk of Texas, Michael Burchfield of Lakeland, Florida, Steve and Tammie Burchfield of Helenwood; special niece, Stasha and husband John Strunk of Winfield; several other nieces and nephews, many other relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the Burchfield family on Sunday, August 14, 2022 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home.

Committal service will follow in the Hazel Valley Memorial Cemetery in Oneida. Pallbearers will be: Richard Byrd, Kevin Byrd, Marlon Byrd, Greg Strunk, Mitchell Lawson, and Colby Jeffers. Honorary pallbearers will be: Jonathan Bowling, Anthony Carroll, Rick Goodman, and Starlin (Boy) Bowling.
