Jerry O. Morrow

Jerry O. Morrow, age 70 of Oneida, TN passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, January 4, 2020. Born in Scott County, TN on March 25, 1949, he was the son of the late Roscoe and Velma Morrow.

Jerry started digging graves for West Funeral Home in 1969. He hand dug each one until 2001 and continued digging with the assistance of a backhoe until his retirement in 2014. He was a member of the West Oneida United Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Shelva Foster; grandparents, John and Emily Smith and Jerry and Frona Morrow; sisters, Hazel Register, Edna Fairchild and Maxine Maxey; brother, Windell Morrow; and brothers-in-law, Frank Maxey, Thomas Fairchild, Earl Banfield, Billy Payne and Vernon Taylor.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Bridget C. Morrow of Oneida, TN; children, Melissa Foster Russell and husband Dwayne, Christy Foster Cross and husband Sean, Dustin Foster; stepson, Cody Posey and wife Jacqueline Posey of Oneida, TN; mother and father-in-law, Paul and Esther Duncan of Oneida, TN; sisters, Jean Banfield, Ela Faye Payne, Jo Monroe and husband Les and Sharon Hill and husband David; brothers, Leonard Morrow and wife Jan, Doug Morrow and wife Lois, Jim Morrow and wife Angela, Junior Morrow, Donny Morrow and wife Debbie, Kenny Morrow and wife Paula; grandkids, Dakota Cross and fiancée Chloe, Emily Cross, Elijah, Micah and Uriah Foster; sister-in-law, Nancy Morrow; brothers-in-law, Jimmy and Donna Roysdon of Huntsville, TN and Estel Lee West of Oneida, TN; special niece, Erika West of Oneida, TN; niece, Kasha Mason and husband Jesse and her children Sandler and Sydney of Ringgold, GA; nephews, Christopher Roysdon of Ringgold, GA and his children Grayson and Morgan and CJ and wife Lauren Roysdon of Chattanooga; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the Morrow family on Thursday, January 9, 2020 from 5 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 8 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Randall Hutson and Bro. Dennis Blevins officiating. Music will be provided by Tammy Hutson.

Committal service will be on Friday, January 10, 2020 at 11 a.m. in the Hazel Valley Memorial Cemetery in Oneida. Pallbearers will be: Sean and Dakota Cross, Cody Posey, Jerry Hanson, Timmy (Peanut) Claiborn and Mike Smith.
