Janetta Lawson

Janetta Lawson, age 83 of Pioneer, TN, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at the Big South Fork Medical Center in Oneida, TN. Born in the Straight Fork community on March 22, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Harrison and Linda Byrd Jeffers. She was a born-again Christian of the Baptist Faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Shirley Lawson; son, Ralph Lawson; daughter-in-law, Darlene Lawson; brothers, Olanda Jeffers, Ora Jeffers, Oda Jeffers, Ronda Jeffers, Ova Jeffers, Walter Jeffers, and Bobby Jeffers; and sisters, Reda Norris and Edith Lay.

Janetta is survived by one sister, Erma Silcox; her three children, Lynetta Lay, Edmond Lawson, and Keith Lawson; seven grandchildren, Craig, Jason, Shane, Daniel, Brook, Rebecca, and Amanda; 12 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; many other relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the Lawson family on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 from 12 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Carlie Duncan officiating. Music will be provided by the Duncan Family Singers.

Committal service will follow in the Norma Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
