Howard 'Kenny' Mays

Howard “Kenny” Mays, age 85 of Oneida, TN, passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2023, with his loving family by his side.  Born April 3, 1938, in Scott County, TN, he was the son of the late Willie ‘Bill’ and Agnes Coffey Mays.  Kenny was a member of the First Baptist Church in Oneida.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife:  Patricia ‘Pat’ Phillips Mays; sister and brother-in-law:  Sue and Joe Brooks; brothers-in-law:  Dr. Thomas Stanley, and Jack Phillips; niece:  Donna Sue Stanley; and father and mother-in-law:  Tobe and Lona Phillips.

Kenny is survived by his children:  Tobey Mays and wife Janet, Kenia Bowling and husband Mark, and Patrick Mays and wife Vickie; grandchildren:  Maci Mays, Colbey Caldwell and husband Aaron, Nate Bowling and wife Trinity, Aaron Bowling, Hogan Mays, Emily Carson and husband John, and Jen Watters; sister:  Dorothy Stanley; niece:  Henrietta Upchurch and husband Roger; nephews:  Jody Brooks, and Steven Stanley and wife Myrna; special friends:  Patty Hughes and family, and his dedicated family of employees at Tobe's Motel and Restaurant; as well as other family members and friends.   The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Oneida Nursing and Rehab Center, and the Big South Fork Medical Center for their professional care and kindness shown to Kenny.

Friends may visit with the Mays family on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Dr. Sean Lee officiating. 

A private committal service will be held in the Carson Memorial Park in Oneida, TN.
