David Ray Jeffers Obituary

David Ray Jeffers, age 65 of Helenwood, TN passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at the Big South Fork Medical Center in Oneida, TN. Born in Scott County, TN on December 12, 1956, he was the son of the late Ruth Jeffers and Albert Sexton and special mom Lillie Sexton. David was a long-time employee of Scott County serving as a heavy equipment operator, recycling center supervisor, and bus driver for the Scott County School System. He loved his garden and spending time with family and friends, and he faithfully attended Calvary Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Sexton and Betty Sue Jeffers and brother, Jerry Lee Jeffers.

He is survived by his loving wife, Catherine Perdue Jeffers; daughters, Jessica Williams and husband Bobby of Robbins and Monica Lawson and husband Eric of Robbins; grandchildren, McKenzie Terry and husband Caleb of Oneida, Savannah Williams, Bristol and Hayden David Lawson, all of Robbins; sister, Etha (Mae) Wilson of Helenwood; niece, Jackie (DeeDee) Sharpe and husband Jackson of Huntsville; cousin, Paul Boswell; special friend, Willis Turner; many other relatives and special friends.

Friends may visit with the Jeffers family on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 from 6 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 7 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Williams officiating. Music will be provided by Steve and Nora Chubbs.

Committal service will be on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at 11 a.m. in the Lone Mountain Cemetery in Robbins. Pallbearers will be: Eric Lawson, Caleb Terry, Joe Potter, Bobby J. Williams, Barlon Perdue, and Bobby Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Perdue and Kenny Hedrick.
