David Edward Tate

David Edward Tate, known to his loved ones as Bubba, was born on June 10, 1954 to the late James (Jimmy) Tate and Reba Ruth Ross Tate.  He passed away at the age of 68 on July 17, 2022 in Phoenix, Arizona. 

Born and raised in Scott County, Robbins Tennessee.  Bubba was a loving father, grandfather, uncle, world traveler, proud Vietnam veteran, and husband to his beloved late wife, Yon Cha Tate.  Bubba spent many years as an aircraft mechanic before eventually settling in Phoenix, Arizona, and working at the Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian community at Casino, Arizona for more than 20 years.  Bubba enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his grandchildren, smoking a cigar with good friends Rocky Hale and Lance Blair, and speaking with long-time friends Rita Brown and Debbie Jo Smith of Tennessee. 

He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Chi Na Tate Aguilar, son-in-law Manuel Aguilar, two grandchildren, Lilyana Grace and James Burnett Aguilar, brother, John Tate and wife, Brenda, sister-in-law, Zelma Griffith Tate, nephews, John Tate, Jr. and Jongwong Park, nieces, Annette Tate Lewis, Natalie Tate, and Minhye Park, great-nephew William Copeland, and several cousins and close friends.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Yon Cha, parents, Jimmy and Reba Tate, and brother, Norton Tate. 

At Bubba’s request, there will be no memorial or funeral services at this time.  Please enjoy a cigar or an ice-cold Mountain Dew on his behalf.
