Carolyn Kay (Pennington) Stephens

Carolyn Kay Pennington Stephens, age 65 of Oneida, TN, passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at her home surrounded by loved ones.  Born January 29, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Dewey and Hazel Ann Hall Pennington.

Carolyn was well-known in her community, loved by all.  She was a teacher’s aide for many years at Burchfield School, and later became a homemaker, sitting with the elderly.  She was a woman with a wonderful, loving and caring personality.  She had a heart of gold and loved with all of her being.  Carolyn enjoyed sun tanning, gardening, watching hummingbirds as well as enjoyed being a daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband:  Willard Stephens; brothers:  Denzil Pennington, Jim Pennington, Noyle Pennington; sisters:  Willa Sexton, Joyce Trosper, Jewel Cox, and Brenda West.

Carolyn is survived by her only son:  Christopher Stephens and wife Casey Stephens; two special granddaughters:  Hailey Stephens and fiancé Bronson Ross, and Anna Stephens; brothers:  Paul Pennington, and Hoey Pennington; sisters:  Angie Pennington-Holloway, as well as Wanda and Tony Ashcraft; many friends, special nieces, nephews and loved ones, as well as special friend:  Deanna Jeffers and kids, R. J., Rebecca, Katie and James Jeffers.

Carolyn chose cremation.
