Obituary

Brian Gordon Boyatt, age 73 of Oneida, TN passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at his home. Born in Scott County, TN on April 14, 1949, he was the son of the late Lester and Jewell Watters Boyatt. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Oneida and a United States Army Veteran. He was retired from the City of Oneida and was a board member at Plateau Electric until his passing. He was an avid sports fan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harvey and Rachel Boyatt and John and Ella Watters; brother, Jim Boyatt; sisters, June Herring, Wanda Boyatt, and Nelda Jones; nephews, Michael Rubio and Rob Cross; great nephew, Jansen Cross.

Brian is survived by brothers, Ronald Boyatt of Cheboygan, MI., Louis Boyatt of Dalton, GA., and Gary Boyatt and wife LeEtta; sisters, Jean Rubio and husband Charles of Chicago, IL., and Melba Cross; many other family members and special friends.

Friends may visit with the Boyatt family on Friday, May 13, 2022 from 3 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Boyatt, Bro. Philip Kazee and Bro. Wesley Boyatt officiating.

Committal service will follow in the Foster Crossroads Cemetery in Oneida with full Military Honors conducted by the American Legion Post #136 of Oneida. Pallbearers will be: Mike Slaven, Wesley Billingsley, Tony Whittenburg, Curtis Thompson, Joey Chitwood, and Dave Cross. Honorary pallbearers will be: Jeff Boyatt, Eddie Cross, Jacob Billingsley, Bill Duncan, and Stacey Posey.
