Brenda A. Brenneman Obituary

Brenda A. Brenneman, age 68, went to walk with her Lord and Savior on September 15, 2022, at Tennova Medical Center in Powell, TN following a brief illness. She was born in Scott County, TN on February 13,1954, to the late Wheaton and Pearl Slaven. She was a devout Christian and active member of the Macedonia Christian Center where she immensely enjoyed mothering the youth group for many years. She loved singing gospel music and working in the church. She loved her children and her granddaughter more than life itself, including her church children. She was more than happy to be the central figure and rock in the lives of her husband and children. Anyone who knew them knew that she was a star in their eyes, and that is all that ever mattered to her. She spent her entire life caring for her family and friends.

Brenda spent more than half of her life as a nurse, caring for the community of Scott County at the local hospital, where she retired from in 2002. She also proudly represented her Native American Heritage in the local school systems and attended the Heritage Festival to share her experiences year after year.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Leda Imogene Slaven; brother, Bruce Slaven; sister-in-law, Sue Harman; and brothers-in-law, John Harman, Gordon Cecil, and Bobby Sandiford.

Brenda is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Jeff Brenneman; sisters, Florence Cecil and Pat Sandiford; sons, Eli Nicely, Bobby Bowlin and wife Katherine; daughter, Terri Bowlin and fiancé Blaine Dykes; her only granddaughter, Elizabeth Cheyenne Guy; sister-in-law, Cathy Slaven; special friends, Katt Newport and Robin Stephens; father to her children, Donnie Bowlin; several nieces and nephews, many other relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the Brenneman family on Saturday, September 17, 2022 from 1 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Randall Duncan officiating. Music will be provided by Chris and Cindy Neal.

Committal service will follow in the West Cemetery in Oneida. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
