Betty Rose Workman Obituary

Betty Workman, age 89 of Pine Knot, KY, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2022, at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born February 26, 1933, in Pioneer, TN to the late H. B. Silcox and Lula Allen Silcox. Betty was a devoted mother and Nana.

She accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at a young age. She loved Southern Gospel music, she and her husband, Wade Monday, sang in a Gospel quartet for many years. She was a former member of Helenwood Baptist Church in Helenwood, TN, and a current member of First Baptist Church of Rutland, Florida. Her passions and hobbies were knitting and crocheting.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands: Wade T. Monday, Phillip Workman, and James Kucher; brother: James L. Silcox; sister: Lillian Silcox; granddaughter: Jennifer Elizabeth Monday; brother and sister-in-law: Mr. and Mrs. Everette Sharp.

She is survived by her son: Jerry Monday of Helenwood, TN; granddaughter: Heather Rae Monday of Pall Mall, TN; great granddaughter: Shana Elizabeth Douglas and husband Wesley, great grandson: Ryan Butler, and wife Ashton; great-great grandchildren: Ryker Douglas, Mason Queener, Shiloh Butler, Emma Rose Douglas, and Julie Butler; special cousin: Willie Beckner, and a special niece: Mona Silcox.

Friends may visit with the Workman family on Thursday, November 17, 2022, from 12 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Jim West officiating. Music will be provided by Dallas West.

Committal service will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery in LaFollette, TN. Pallbearers will be Ryan Butler, Horace Allen, Gilbert Lay, Gene Silcox, Wesley Douglas, and Joe West.

West-Murley Funeral Home is serving the family of Ms. Betty Workman.
