William Jay Sharp, age 49 of Clinton, Tennessee, formerly of Huntsville, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, September 25, 2017 at the University of North Carolina Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC.  Born June 10, 1968 at the Eglin Air Force Base in Destin, FL, he was the son of the late William Jake and Marie Delores Sharp.  William worked as a lab technician, for the city of Oak Ridge and was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents: Joshua J. Sharp and Erie West Sharp; aunts and uncles:  Doug Sharp, Joseph and Judy Sharp Purcell, Joseph and Alene Sharp, Joyce Sharp Loy, Charles and Mae Sharp Chitwood, Vernon and Elizabeth Sharp West, and Wesley and Jean Sharp Riggins.

He is survived by his wife:  Lydia Salmon Sharp; brother:  Jonathan Sharp and wife Marsha; uncle, Roger Sharp and wife Shirley; aunts, Helen Smith, Nancy Johnson and husband Bill, and Linda Jeffers Sharp; and his pet (Yellow) Bird; and many family members and friends.

Friends may visit with the Sharp family on Saturday, September 30, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12:00 noon at the Trinity Baptist Church with Bro. Dilbert Terry officiating.  Music will be provided by the Trinity Baptist Church Choir.

Burial will follow in the First Presbyterian Mossop Memorial Cemetery in Huntsville.  Pallbearers will be family and friends.
