Voyd Lawson, age 71 of Smyrna, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Kentucky One Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.  Voyd was born in Scott County, Tennessee on March 28, 1946 to the late Dilmon and Della Lloyd Lawson.  He was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Mable Ann Lawson; daughter Mary Ann Green; grandson Ernest Green; many brothers, sisters and family members.

Survived by his three children: Nellie Morel and husband Zach, Voyd E. Lawson and wife Angel, Melody Smith and husband Michael; grandchildren: Greg Roberson, Megan Marlin, Destiny Walker, Cheyenne Morel, Curtis Green, Dilmon Green, Brandy Cole, Curtis Cole, Tabitha Nelson, Fred Nelson; great grandchildren: Kimberly Green, Ethan Walker, Asher Walker, Cheyenne Andrews, Christopher Andrews, and Elaina Andrews; many brothers and sisters; other relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the Lawson family on Saturday, June 24, 2017 from 12 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Donnie Chambers and Bro. Wayne Lawson officiating.  Music will be provided by the Lloyd family.

Interment will follow in the Hazel Valley Memorial Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be: Zack Morel, Michael Smith, Curtis Green, Megan Marlin, Dilmon Green, Fred Nelson, Ronnie Chambers and Voyd E. Lawson.
