Rufus Johnson Terry, age 71 of Winfield, TN, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, TN.

He was preceded in death by: father John Archie Terry; mother: Ogilee Payne Terry; sisters: Janice Sue Walker, Gloria June Anderson, Brenda C. Terry, Joy Blevins and an infant sister; brothers: Rudy D. Terry and Lonnie Terry; sister-in-law: Shirley Caudill and Melanie Lee Murphy both of Winfield, TN.

Rufus is survived by his wife Phyllis Terry; children: Craig Terry of Atlanta, GA, Archie Dewayne Terry and wife Letisha of Oneida, TN, Scott A. Lawson of Winfield, TN, Harley Mann, Brandon Stine and Dustin Terry, all of Winfield, TN; grand-children: Joshua Payne Terry, Mason Terry, and Carleigh Payne; sister: Melva Taylor of McMinnville, TN; brothers and sisters-in-law’s: Bruce Blevins and  Ann Terry both of Oneida, Ralph and Patricia Murphy of Goshen, OH, Lonnie and Sue Murphy of Winfield, TN, Fred Murphy of Gulfport, FL, Dwight and Lois Murphy, William and Anna Rose Murphy, Jack and Mallie Murphy, Rolland Caudill all of Winfield, TN. Rufus also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins and relatives and friends.

Friends may visit the Terry family on Saturday, June 17, 2017, from 5 p.m. until time of funeral service at 8 p.m. in the chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Robert King and Bradley Kidd officiating.

Graveside service will be held on Sunday, June 18, 2017 at 1 p.m. in the Perkins Cemetery in Winfield, TN. Pallbearers will be Bill King, Steve Young, Tim Terry, Trey Helton, Rick Burke and Wallace Walker.
