Paul Edward Johnson, age 72 of Pioneer, TN went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 with his loving family by his bedside. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio on September 15, 1946 to the late Orville Johnson and Millie Baird. Paul was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant son, Walter Eugene Johnson; brother, David Johnson; stepbrothers, Hoyt and Jack Phillips; stepsister, Sue Hixon; brother-in-law, Gordon Hixon; and sister-in-law, Bea Phillips.

Paul is survived by two daughters, Geneva Johnson and friend Cassius Mattison and Nicole Johnson and friend Duane Whitson; stepson, Christopher Shields; sisters, Diana Elmore and husband Pete, Shirley Elwartowski and husband Joe; stepbrother, Bud Phillips; grandchildren, Brianna Hughbanks, Michael Harris, Amiyha Jones, Kemora Mattison, Ryan Barnes, Austin Johnson and Landen Whitson; nieces and nephews, April Adkins and husband Harvey, Cory Elmore and wife Samantha, Beth Carson and husband Peyton, Roger Baker, Ricky Baker and wife Rachel, Danny Baker and wife Ashley and Jessica Frederick and husband Cory; great nephews and nieces, Andrew Adkins and wife Emily, Chris and Dilan Adkins, Rachel and Allie Elmore, Prailee and MaKinlee Carson, Carmi and Zackery Baker, Emily, Jacy, Andrew and George Baker and Adyson Byrge; special aunt, Betty Hargraves; and many other relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the Johnson family on Thursday, July 18, 2019 from 4 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 6 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Tommy Burress and Bro. Jeff Watson officiating. Music will be provided by Heartfelt, Jacy Baker and George Byrd.

Burial will follow in the Sexton Memorial Cemetery in Oneida. Pallbearers will be: Harvey Adkins, Cory Elmore, Peyton Carson, Roger Baker, Andrew Adkins, Chris Adkins and Dilan Adkins. Honorary pallbearers will be: Duane Whitson, Cory Frederick, Danny Baker and Cassius Mattison.
