Onas Cotton

Onas Cotton, age 86 of Oneida, TN passed away on Monday, October 7, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Paint Rock, TN on August 12, 1933, he was the son of the late Arvil and Nancy Cotton. He was a faithful member of Paint Rock Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Nellie Christine; brothers, Junior and J.D. Cotton; brothers-in-law, Junior and Clifford Laxton.

Onas is survived by a very special brother, Harold Cotton of the Cherry Fork community, brother, Roger and wife Marva Cotton of Knoxville; sisters, Wanda Cotton of Knoxville and Shirley Chambers of Murfreesboro; sisters-in-law, Wilma Jones of Oneida, Charlotte Randolp of Batavia, OH, Ann Terry of Oneida, Betty Lawson of Helenwood, Margaret Potter of Huntsville, Loretta Jacks of Winfield, Sandra Pleasant of Crossville; brother-in-law, Chester Laxton of Oneida; and many other relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the Cotton family on Thursday, October 10, 2019 from 12 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Dean Barnes officiating. Music will be provided by the Paint Rock Baptist Church Choir.

Committal service will follow in the Cotton Cemetery in the Cherry Fork community. Pallbearers will be: Josh Thompson, Austin Thompson, Ryan Chambers, Dewayne Chambers, Donnie Phillips and Ronnie Phillips.
