Nell Claborn Obituary

Nell Chambers Claborn, age 86 of Oneida, TN, departed this life on Sunday, November 25, 2018, in Knoxville, TN at the home of her daughter. Born in Scott County, TN on January 12, 1932, she was the daughter of the late James Hurstle and Hattie Burchfield Chambers. Nell was a member of the First Baptist Church in Oneida.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Arley Loton Claborn; special aunt, Lula Thompson.

Nell is survived by her daughter: Luann Wallace and husband David of Knoxville; granddaughters: Allison Koch and husband Chris of Nashville, Jaclyn Laxton and husband Jade of Oneida; grandson: Whit Reed and wife Romy of Knoxville; five precious great-grandsons: Connor Koch, Riley and Lukas Laxton, and Turner and William Reed; three sisters: Ruby West of Zephyr Hills, FL; Margaret Davis and husband Herbert of Oneida; and Barbara Posey and husband Everett of Knoxville; as well as many other relatives and friends to mourn the loss of this special lady.

Friends may visit with the Claborn family on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Randy Presnell officiating. Music will be provided by: Greta Laxton. Interment will follow in the Carson Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be: David Wallace, Jade Laxton, Whit Reed, Riley Laxton, Roger Ward, and Tyler Layne. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Chris Koch, Connor Koch, Lukas Laxton, Turner Reed, and William Reed.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to: the Scott County Senior Citizens’ Center, 102 N. Main St., Oneida, TN 37841; or First Baptist Church of Oneida, P. O. Box 4067, Oneida, TN 37841.
