Minnie Lou Smith Jeffers Obituary

Mrs. Minnie Lou Smith Jeffers, age 89 of Oneida, TN, passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at her home.  She was born November 20, 1928 to the late Joel Benjamin Smith and Nancy Ross Smith.  Minnie Lou was a member of the Winona Baptist Church where she previously served as clerk and Sunday School teacher for many years.  She was a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked at Scott County Hospital, Scott County School System and Stonehenge Nursing Home.  She also served as Postmistress at Winona for several years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years:  Floyd H. Jeffers; sister:  Frances Raines (Lonnie); brothers:  Lee Smith (Ora), Alton Smith (Doris), and Bennie Smith (Mary Ellen); brothers-in-law:  Marley Jeffers (May), Loy Jeffers (Eldora), and L. D. Jeffers (Velma); sisters-in-law:  Flossie Marcum (Elmer) and Flora Harness (Jake).

Minnie is survived by her daughters:  Sandra Jo Young and husband Harold of Robbins, and Nancy Burke and husband Darrel of Oneida; grandchildren:  Derek Young and wife Beth of Soddy Daisy, Miranda Young of Cleveland, and Holly Young and fiancé Ian Soderbom of Cookeville; great granddaughter:  Chloe Young of Soddy Daisy; step granddaughter Alison Moser and husband Joe of Chattanooga; step great grandsons:  Connor, Reese, and Ryan Moser of Chattanooga; special caregiver and niece:  Joyce Harness Bowling; and many other relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the Jeffers family on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Smithers officiating.  Music will be provided by the Pine Creek Church Choir.

Graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Black Creek Cross Roads Cemetery in Robbins, TN.  Pallbearers will be family and friends.
