Manford Mark Lay, age 54 of Huntsville, Tennessee, departed this life on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at the Big South Fork Medical Center in Oneida.
Born in Scott County, TN July 28, 1964, he was the son of the late Rev. Odus Paul Lay and Mildred Hazel Foust Lay.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Bobby Gibson.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Patricia Ann Gibson Lay; children, Mark Anthony Lay and wife Savannah and Christina (Tina) Marie Lay Muse and husband John; his very special grandchildren who he loved with all his heart, Addison Hazel Ann Phillips, Garrett Christopher Muse and Dalton James Muse. His grandbabies were his entire world; brothers and sister, Paul E. Lay and wife Norma Jean, Jerry B. Lay and wife Darlene, Linda Gail Lay Austin and husband Ray and David M. Lay and Wife Teresa; special nieces and nephews, Mary Alice Lay, Jason Lay, Eric Lay, Anastasia Crowe, Melinda Duncan, Amy Jeffers, Houston Gibson, Makayla Gibson, and Kendrick Gibson; mother-in-law, Rena Gibson; brothers-in-law, Kenny Gibson and Bobby Gibson, Jr.; special friends, Greg Woodward, Dustin Lloyd and all his friends and co-workers at Great Dane Trailers in Huntsville. He also leaves many other relatives and friends.
Friends may visit with the Lay family on Thursday, September 13, 2018 from 5 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 7 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Sexton officiating.
Graveside service will be conducted on Friday, September 14 at 11 a.m. in the Adkins Cemetery in the Straight Fork Community.
