I'm sitting here, 2000 miles away from Helenwood, stunned by the news of Jordan's passing. Living so far away makes it so hard to stay in touch and to be aware of the lives of those about whom we care so much (each of you).

The years, even decades, have flown by since the times I stayed with your wonderful family so regularly in your home. It was in those days that Jordan was born, and I always treasured that closeness to you during that season of life as he grew up right before my eyes.

That's why learning of Jordan leaving this life so prematurely hits me so hard. Much more than that, I grieve that you hurt. I hate knowing how deeply wounded you must be. My prayers are with you this night, and will be in the coming days, weeks, and anytime the Lord reminds me to lift you up to Him.

I'm sorry for the pain you are experiencing. You are such good, good, good people. You do so much for so many. Each of your contributions to me is great, and yet tiny compared to the many ways you've contributed to the lives of others, be it individually or in our entire community. You're the salt of the earth.

Accept my prayers and condolences. I am deeply pained for the loss you are experiencing. I know you'll have a great many people around you during these times, but I stand ready at any time to listen to, pray for, or minister to you if at all needed.
