Harriet Goad Bond Obituary

Harriet Goad Bond, age 73 of Oneida, TN went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at her home with her loving family by her side.  Born February 20, 1945 in Oneida, TN, she was the daughter of the late Harvey Goad and Hazel Chambers Goad.

Harriet was a devoted wife, mother, and friend.  She was a talented pastor’s wife who served faithfully alongside her husband for many years.  She loved to sing and play piano, and she encouraged many others to use their talents in serving our Lord.  She was an encourager and always ready to help where needed.  Her faith was an inspiration and anchor that continued to shine brightly.  She will be remembered by many for the strength and courage shown during her recent battle with cancer.

She is survived by her loving husband of over 54 years:  Gene Bond of Oneida; daughters:  Melissa Brock and husband Ray of Lawrenceburg, IN and Gina Bond-Burke and husband Glenn of Oneida; grandchildren:  Alex Brock and wife Janelle of Williamsburg, OH and Kaitlin Laub and husband James of Lawrenceburg, IN; sisters:  Lavoghn Hammontree of Cookeville and Holly Johnson and husband Jeff of Huntsville; and many other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 from 12:00 noon until time of funeral service at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Greg Jeffers officiating.  Music will be provided by Bro. Larry Brooks.

Burial will follow in the Cooper Memorial Gardens in Oneida, TN.  Pallbearers will be Cecil Adams, James Adams, Alex Brock, Ray Brock, Glenn Burke, and James Laub.

In Lieu of Flowers, the family requests donations be made to:  Covenant Hospice, 3001 Lake Brook Blvd., Suite 101, Knoxville, TN  37909.
