Mrs. Gwena Maxine Marcum Trammell, age 67 of Winfield, TN passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at University of Chicago Hospital in Chicago, Illinois.  Born June 7, 1949 in Oneida, TN, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Lola Maxine Duncan Marcum.  She was a member of the Helenwood Baptist Church.

After spending 27 years in Fort Wayne, IN raising her family and standing by her husband, Sherman Lee Trammell, Gwena Trammell came back to her home in the mountains.  There she spent time with her grandkids and started making plans to build a home with Sherman.  Soon after working in a beauty salon as a licensed cosmetologist in Huntsville, TN, Gwena started to operate her own shop on South Main St. in Oneida, TN.  She would build lifelong relationships, as well as share her love of Jesus Christ with the people who would seek her services, whether it be a perm, coloring, or just a quick shave.  Gwena was number four of  ten children born to the late Lola Duncan Marcum and Elmer Marcum.  She was raised in the High Point Community on Cherry Fork Road, and attended Oneida High School, Class of 1967.  Gwena also loved going to church.  She was a member at Helenwood Baptist, but visited most churches in the county on some occasion.  Her Faith, Family and Friends were what mattered to her most.

She is survived by her daughters:  Vanessa Mills of Knoxville, TN, and Lola Trammell Woolums and husband Todd of Leesburg, IN; grandchildren:  Courtney Friedman and husband Michael of Crittenden, KY, Cameron Trammell King of Knoxville, TN, Jennifer Marsh and husband Joe of Anderson, IN and Heather Stevens and husband Trey of Warsaw, IN; great grandchildren:  Skylar Grace, Harper LeAnn, Jaxson Carter and Jagger Ryan; honorary grandchildren:  Mila and Lily King; siblings:  Zona Letner and fiancé Kenny Quandt, Waverly (Tim) and wife Patricia, Diana Braden and husband Darrell, Rose Parnin and husband Jim, Carlton Marcum and wife Mary, Floyd Marcum and wife Linda, Jetta Wilson and husband Wayne, and Peggy Mills and fiancé John Lewallen; sisters-in-law:  Lanta Reynolds and husband Dick, Pearl Collins and husband Jack, Patricia Taylor and husband Jerry, and sister-in-law:  Doris Trammell; dearly devoted friends:  Anna Ruth Lawson and Lisa Stephens Terry; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
