Gladis Owens, age 79 of Oneida, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at the Huntsville Manor Nursing Home.  She was born January 14, 1938 to the late Virgial and Lillie Harness Bowling and was a member of the Black Creek Crossroads Baptist Church.

 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Bowling; great-grandson, Marcus Tucker; brother, Lester Bowling; sisters, Violia Foley, Lola Brown, and Hazel Cross.

Gladis is survived by her daughter, Durita Slaven; son, Billy Joe Bowling; sisters, Elsie Denoyer and Edna Cross; brothers, Sylvester Bowling, Harold Bowling, and Laurence Bowling; grandson, Dustin Slaven; great-granddaughter, Savanah Slaven; and many other relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the Owens family on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Byrge officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Black Creek Cross Roads cemetery.  Family and friends will be serving as pallbearers.
