Doris Jean Cross Chitwood, age 80, of Englewood, Ohio went home to be with her Lord on November 10, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Richard A.; son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Julie Chitwood of Tipp City; granddaughter, Allison Jean Chitwood; step-grandchildren, Miranda (Jeremy) Huffman, Chris (Molly) McCann, and Brandon (Lindsey) McCann; sister, Martha Reed of Indianapolis; brother, Clarence Cross of Vandalia; great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Ruth Cross.

Doris Jean was born in West Virginia. She grew up in Dayton where she graduated from Fairview High School in 1955. She was a member of Eichelberger Pentecostal Church of God where she met Richard.

Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Wed. Nov. 15 at the GILBERT-FELLERS FUNERAL HOME, 950 ALBERT RD., BROOKVILLE, with Pastor Libby Martin officiating. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Tue. Nov.14 at the funeral home.

Graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Cooper Memorial Cemetery in Oneida.  Pallbearers will be family and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Hospice of Dayton.

West-Murley Funeral Home is serving the family for local arrangements of Doris Jean Cross Chitwood.
