Dollie Dee Slaven King

Dollie Dee Slaven King, age 70 of the Ditney Trail Community, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at her son’s home.  Born December 9, 1948 in Oneida, TN, she was the daughter of the late James E. Slaven, Sr. and Mavis Boyatt Slaven.  Dollie was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four infant siblings:  Billy Ray Slaven, Ray Slaven, Betty Lou Slaven and Flonnie Marie Slaven; her husband:  Denford Calvin King, Sr.; and two infant children:  James Ernest King and Michelle Ann King; grandparents:  Edd and Sally Thomas Slaven, and Harvey and Rachel Foster Boyatt; father-in-law:  Ernest W. King and mother-in-law:  Ora Mae (McGinnis)(King) Collison; brothers-in-law:  Roy King and James C. West; sister-in-law:  Linda Green Slaven; son-in-law:  Harvey Slay; grandson:  Parker Blake Calvin King; and special cousin:  Veda Watson.

Dollie is survived by four sons:  Denford Calvin King, Jr. of LaFollette, TN; David Lloyd King and wife Carla, Danny Ray King and wife Brandi, both of Oneida, TN; Harry Eugene Harvey King and wife Briana of Winfield, TN; three daughters:  Donna Gail Basinger and husband Victor of Strawberry Plains, TN; Elizabeth Denise Slay of Winfield, TN; Debra Lynn Massengill and husband Larry of LaFollette, TN; thirteen grandchildren:  Jairus and Charlene Basinger; Bethany (Slay) Francis; David Michael, Lexi and Jace King, Aydan Massengill, Gabriel, William and Margaret King, Azura and Denford Zane King, and Gracie King; three great-grandchildren:  Rayleigh, Ama and Stephen Francis; one sister:  Shirley (Slaven) West; two brothers:  James E. Slaven, Jr. and wife Letha, all of Oneida, and Joe Slaven of Littleton, CO; as well as a multitude of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.  

Friends may visit with the King family on Sunday, June 23, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Dudley Harness officiating.  Music will be provided by Charlie King.

Graveside service will be held on Monday, June 24, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Slaven Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be:  Jimmy and Jack Slaven, Jairus Basinger, David M. King, Gabriel King and William King.
