Debra Jean (Strunk) Slaven, age 68 of Oneida, Tennessee passed away on Monday, January 14, 2019 at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge, TN. She was born October 27, 1950 to Bill and Lilyan (Laxton) Strunk.
She was a member of the Pentecost Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by: husband Harlin Slaven; grandparents: Elbert and Etta Laxton, Roy and Laura Strunk, Nancy And Alfred West and Campbell and Rebecca Reed; aunts and uncles: Jim and Janice Laxton, Bobby Strunk, Audie and Wanda Strunk, Glen Lee, Roscoe Williams and Jo Dean Strunk; sister in law: Johnnie Ruth Slaven; special friend Jean Stanley.
In addition to her parents she is survived by sons: Clint and wife, Shanna, and Brent and wife, Michelle; sisters: Marlesa Jahay and husband, Ernie, and Christy Hughett; grandchildren: Cody Slaven and fiancé, Ruthie, McKenzie Wright, Braden Slaven, Colton Slaven and Jeremiah Slaven; one great-grandchild Brayelynn due in June; aunts and uncles: Barbara and Charles Burton, Dillie Lee, Mary Nell Compton, Earnest Strunk and Betty Jean Williams and their families; sister-in-law: Dean Lee and husband, Lloyd; brothers-in-law: Earl Slaven and Doyle Slaven and wife Lois: nieces and nephews: Craig Foster and wife Mandy, children, Owen, Tayler, and Skyler, Carissa Sadler and husband Scottie and children Easton and Emmitt, Kayla Jeffers and husband Michael, Angie Dorris and husband Keith and children Josie and Macy, Tonya Owens and husband Scott and daughter Hailey, Felicia Flint and husband Mickey and children Jacob, Andrew and Macaiah; special friends: Cynthia Wright, Dean and Charlie West, Ina Gayle and Otis Buttram, Roger Stanley and Delin Phillips; and many other relatives and friends.
Friends may visit with the Slaven family on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 from 5 pm until time of funeral service at 7 pm in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro Kelly Barnes and Bro Roger Stanley officiating, music will be provided by Kelly and Becky Barnes.
Graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at 11 am in the Morris Goodman Cemetery in Oneida, TN. Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.
