Dan Jacks Obituary

Dan Jacks, age 80 of Winfield, TN, departed this life to be in Paradise with his son on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at his home. Born February 14, 1939 in Winfield, TN, he was the son of the late James Carl and Nola Taylor Jacks. Dan was a long-time member and elder of the New Light United Baptist Church, and a long-time auto-body repair technician at Terry Motor Company.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son: Daniel Carl Jacks; his sister: Dora June Carter; father and mother-in-law: Jacob and Lottie Laxton; brothers-in-law: Clifford and Junior Laxton, Dean Lawson, Lonnie Terry, Gary Randolph, Les Reynolds and Bill Jones; sisters-in-law: Bess Jacks, Nellie Cotton and Louetta Laxton; niece: Megan Laxton; and nephew: Eddie Laxton.

Dan is survived by his wife: Lori Jacks; brother: George Martin Jacks of Lexington, KY; nephews: Marty Jacks of Lexington, KY, and Chris Carter of Knoxville, TN; brothers-in-law: Chester Laxton, Onas Cotton, and Jack Carter, all of Oneida; sisters-in-law: Mildred Laxton of IN, Betty Lawson of Scott County, TN, Margaret Potter of Huntsville, TN, Ann Terry and Wilma Jones of Oneida, TN, Charlotte Randolph of OH, and Sandra Pleasant and husband Jimmy of middle TN; niece: Michele Wilson and husband Darrell of Lexington, KY; best friend: Rob Stringer of Oneida, TN; several great nieces and nephews, and other family members and friends.

Friends may visit with the Jacks family on Saturday, February 23, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Greg Jeffers and Marty Jacks officiating.

Entombment will follow in the Carson Memorial Mausoleum in Oneida, TN. Pallbearers will be: Trey Jacks, LeeAnn Jacks, Darrell Wilson, Darrell Wilson, Jr., Mike Stringer and Jeff King. Honorary Pallbearer will be: Rob Stringer.
