Chester Lee Hatmaker Obituary

 

Chester Lee Hatmaker, age 79 of Tullahoma, and formerly of Scott County, TN, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Turkey Creek, Kentucky on November 29, 1939 to the late Mynatt and Lear (Haddix) Hatmaker. Chester served in the United States Navy as a Sea Bee before working at Aero Structure until his retirement. He loved history, enjoyed telling stories, fishing, and listening to bluegrass music, and was known as the neighborhood handyman.

In addition to his parents, Chester was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Jean Hatmaker; and siblings, Velda Kay, Freddie, Frank, and Jesse.

He is survived by his children, Chester (Cathy) Hatmaker II of Winchester, Randy (Fhonda) Hatmaker of Manchester, David (Carolyn) Hatmaker of Yalaha, Florida, and Melissa Hatmaker-Bell (James) of Tullahoma; grandchildren, Shannon, Charles, Gunner, Hayden, Stephen, Stephanie, and Warryn; ten great-grandchildren; four-legged best friend, Bunny; and siblings, Mary (Willis) York of Parker City, Carolyn (Dean) Frye of Knoxville, Jody (Freda) Hatmaker of Robbins, Tennessee, and Cora (Karl) White of Knoxville; many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on  Thursday, July 18, 2019 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in Winchester, TN.  Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 19, 2019 in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Rev. Gary Bell and Susan Rock officiating.

Interment will be held at Lone Mountain Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. in Scott County, Tennessee on Saturday, July 20, 2019 with full Military Honors conducted by the American Legion Post #136 of Oneida.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Hospice Highland Rim, Tullahoma Animal Shelter, or Coffee County Humane Society.
