Charles McKinley Smith, age 80 of Fairfield, Ohio, formerly of Scott County, passed away on Friday, October 19, 2018 at Mount Healthy Christian Village with his loving family by his side.
Born September 7, 1938, he was the son of the late Edd Smith and Ruby J. Carson Smith. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of West Oneida Baptist Church. He graduated from Oneida High School and he served 4 years in the Air Force. He taught auto mechanics at Scarlet Oaks High School. He worked for 40 years at Tom Sweeny Nissan Dealer. He lived in Ohio from 1964 until 2018.
Charles is survived by his children Mark Smith and wife Jamie, Steven Smith and wife Denise, Sarah Breen and husband Andrew; brothers Kenneth and wife Freddie, James E. Smith and wife Geraldine, Bobby Lee Smith and wife Betsy, Denny A. Smith and wife LouAnn; sister Ruby Ann and husband Gary Cross; special friends Hubert and Alice Smith, Randy Smith and Rutherford Smith; grandchildren Ruby Smith, Xoe Smith and Jordan Smith; and many other relatives and friends.
Friends may visit with the Smith family on Wednesday October 24, 2018 from 11 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Randy Presnell officiating.
Music will be provided by Allen Martin and Jane Phillips.
Interment will follow at H.C. Smith Cemetery in Oneida, Tennessee with full military honors provided by American Legion Post #136 of Oneida.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Matt Smith, Jordan Smith, Zachary Smith, Shane Chitwood, Wade Sexton, Kelvin Cross and Brian Smith.
