Beatrice Harness Obituary

Beatrice Harness, age 77 of the Ditney Trail Community, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday morning, September 26, 2018 at her daughter’s home in LaFollette, TN following a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on March 24, 1941 to the late Thomas and Lettie Bowling. She was a member of Lone Mountain Missionary Baptist Church and supporter of the Worldwide Church of God for the past 55 years. Beatrice enjoyed gardening and taking care of her animals on her small farm. She was a kind and loving lady that put everyone before herself.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband of 46 years Crawford Harness; her father and mother-in-law Levi and Artincy Harness; brother Fred Bowling; great grandsons Zayden and Brayden Harness; niece Melissa Jolly; nephews David Harness, Bradley Harness, Rodney Harness and Bill York; and several brothers and sisters-in-law.

She is survived by her children Virginia Harness; Jimmy Harness and wife Sharan; Garner Ted Harness and wife Debbie, all of the Ditney Trail community; Penny Paul and husband James; and Meghan Massey, all of LaFollette, TN; grandchildren Andrea Alfrey and husband John, Jaime Terry, Josh Harness, Corey Harness and wife Ashley; great grandchildren Colby Massey, Kaden Harness, Conner Terry and Brady Harness; step great granddaughter Andrea Alfrey; step great grandson Josh Alfrey; brothers Mose Bowling and wife Edna Benny Bowling and wife Janice; sisters Tennessee McKenzie, Thelma Carroll, Bessie Jolly and husband Don; sisters-in-law Louvenia Bowling, Ada Byrd and husband Ledford; Thelma Harness and DeAnna Harness; special nieces Peggy Carson, Amy Ford, Wendy Ward; best friend since childhood Virgie Strunk; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the Harness family on Saturday, September 29, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home.

Interment will follow visitation at the Lone Mountain Cemetery with Dudley Harness officiating and providing music.

Pallbearers will be Corey Harness, Josh Harness, Joey Ward, Roger Ward, Buddy Carroll, Clint Carroll, James Paul and John Alfrey.
