Alice Laxton, age 91 of the Paint Rock Community passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at the Oneida Nursing and Rehab Center after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Born in Scott County, TN on December 31, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Arnie West Phillips.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lautin Laxton.
Alice is survived by 3 children: son, Phillip and wife Pam of Nashville; daughter, Gail Laxton Duncan of Clinton; and daughter, Rosemary Laxton of Clinton; 3 grandchildren: Chase Duncan and wife Tanya of Winter Garden, FL, Autumn Lawson of Clinton and Heather Shelton and husband Paul of Nashville; 2 great granddaughters: 18-month-old twins Ainsley and Kinsley Duncan of FL; 3 nieces and 3 nephews; a host of close friends: Glenna Walker, Kenny Fraker, Tony Langley, Vickie Young, Charles Dobbs, Sam Story, Johnny Grimes, Bill Hartbarger and Gary Pearson; and many other relatives and friends.
Friends may visit with the Laxton family on Monday, October 7, 2019 from 12 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Gordon Donohoe officiating. Music will be provided by Chris Sewell.
Committal service will follow in the Mack Phillips Family Cemetery in the Paint Rock Community.
