Tommy Richard Hughett, age 48, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at the Physicians Regional Medical Center in Knoxville.  Born May 27, 1969, he was the son of Woodrow and Charlene Kennedy Hughett of Helenwood, TN.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents:  Jeremiah Hughett and Earlene Reagan Hughett; maternal grandparents:  Richmond Kennedy and Violet Lowe Kennedy.

In addition to his parents, Tommy is survived by his wife:  Buffie Green Hughett of Helenwood; step children:  Jessica Lynn Caul and Cody Green, both of Alabama, Chris Green and Zachary Green both of Helenwood; sister:  Denise Hughett Burchfield and husband Phillip of Helenwood; nephews:  Devon Banaszak, Cody Burchfield and wife Hannah of Robbins, and Zachary Burchfield of Helenwood, Tyler Green and Joseph Ribis of Alabama; nieces:  Makayla Banaszak, Summer Ribis of Alabama, Angel and Katelyn Edison of Georgia; mother-in-law:  Barbara Maxwell of Alabama; sisters-in-law:  Shirley Ribis and husband Joey of Alabama, Anita Banaszak and husband Bob of Kentucky, and Janice Edison of Georgia; and many other family members and friends.

Friends may visit with the Hughett family on Thursday, January 11, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Lowe officiating.  

Graveside service will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Newport Cemetery in the Brimstone Community.  Pallbearers will be Cody Burchfield, Zac Burchfield, Larry Byrge, Jerry Bertram, Ricky Ray Banks and Matt Lewis.  Honorary Pallbearers will be:  Devon Banaszak and Bob Banaszak.
