Thomas C. Lay

Mr. Thomas Calvin Lay, age 87, of Oneida, Tennessee, passed away at home on Wednesday, March 28, 2018.  Thomas was born in Oneida, Tennessee, on March 13, 1931.  He was the son of the late Elmer and Nanna M. Chambers Lay.

He was a former pastor of Hilltop Baptist Church and a member of the East Robbins Missionary Bapist Church.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Wanda Crowley, and two brothers, Dana Lay and Freddie Phillips.

Thomas is survived by a brother, Clarence Robert Lay and wife Donna; daughter, Pamela Rose Lay Blevins, and son-in-law, Robert Allen Blevins; son, Gary Duane Lay; two grandchildren, David Ray Blevins and wife Rebecca Jane Blevins, and Nathan Lee Blevins and wife Crystal Gayle Blevins; a same-as-a grandson, James Edward Byrd; six great-grandchildren, Rory Anne Blevins, Rae Lynne Blevins, Davin Alexander Blevins, Kitara Alexis Blevins, Tristan Jake Blevins, and Titus Freeman Blevins; several nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and nephews, including two special nieces, Ann Ooten and June Hamlet; and special friends, Susan and Eddie Phillips.

Friends may visit with the Lay family on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, from 6 p.m. to the time of the funeral service at 7:30 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Daniel Woods officiating.  Music will be provided by the Pine Creek Adult Choir.

Graveside service will be conducted on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the Sunnyview (Pine Creek) Cemetery.
