Nick Daugherty, age 58, of Knoxville, TN formerly of Oneida passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at his home. 

Born on September 8, 1959 in Scott County, TN where he grew up. He attended Oneida High School where he played football as a defensive lineman. He had the opportunity to play college football for Auburn University, but decided to stay in Oneida and start a family. Nick continued to be an avid football fan and Ford Motors enthusiast. He worked for Ford Motor Company for several years and then decided to pursue his CDL license and began driving a tanker truck. Nick loved his job as a truck driver at PTC distributers out of Knoxville, where he resided for 15 years. Nick enjoyed talking about the good ol' days and telling stories from his past. 

Preceded in death by his grandparents, Homer Braden, Dicie Cross Strunk, Everett Riley Daugherty, and Juanita Daugherty; father, Roy Lee Daugherty, and infant grandson, Trey Daugherty. 

Nick is survived by his mother, Lorene Daugherty; daughter, Natalie Cross and husband Justin; son, Landon Daugherty; two grandchildren, Jaxson and Harley Quinn Cross all of Oneida; four sisters, Judy Thomas and husband Mike of Winfield, TN, Vickie Poindexter and husband Arnold of Somerset, KY, Ann Mansfield and husband Phillip and Stacy Daugherty; one brother, Joe Daugherty and wife Mary all of Oneida. 

Friends may visit with the Daugherty family on Monday, January 22, 2018 from 5 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Boyatt officiating. Music will be provided by Natalie Cross.

Graveside service will be conducted on Tuesday, January 23 at 11 a.m. at the Stephens Cemetery in Winfield. 

Pallbearers will be: Nick Blakeley, Charley Koger, Jim Massey, Terry Stephens, Richard Byrd, Mike Laxton, Darryl Laxton, Mark Hancock. 

Honorary Pallbearer: Fred Marcum.
