Judy B. Smith, age 62 of the Fairview Community in Huntsville, TN, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the Big South Fork Medical Center in Oneida, TN.  Born November 8, 1955 in Oneida, Judy was the daughter of the late Edward Boshears, Sr. and Nora Day Boshears.  Judy was a member of the Fairview Missionary Baptist Church.

Her love was evident in her 31 years as a teacher’s assistance at Fairview Elementary School where “Miss Judy” found joy in nurturing her “kids” and the many teachers she assisted over the years.  She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, being a Nana to her grandkids, Sunday dinners with her brothers and sisters where she always reminded them that she was the baby. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers-in-law:  Eddie Smith and Floyd Hatfield; sisters-in-law:  Patsy Boshears and Ann Boshears; father and mother-in-law:  Estel and Doris Smith; nephews:  John Paul Smith and Brian Boshears; niece:  Heather Smith; and great nephew:  Gary Lee Jeffers.

Judy is survived by her husband of 44 years:  Junior Ray Smith; her children:  Christian Kay Smith and son-in-law Scott Allen Pemberton, and Jessica Rae Smith Pennington; sisters:  Kathleen Burke and husband J. D., Janetta Davis and husband Ted, Bonnie Murley and husband John Lee, Loretta Hatfield and husband Ray, and Geneva Hatfield; brothers:  Edward Boshears, Jr. and wife Jennifer, Paul Boshears, Curtis Ray Boshears and wife Linda, Gary Boshears and wife Carol; brother-in-law:  Billy Smith; grandchildren:  Danny Duff (DJ) Pennington, IV, and Raelan Skye Pennington; special great, great nephew:  Tyson; as well as many nieces, nephews and special friends.

Friends may visit with the Smith family on Thursday, January 18, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Michael Ray Jeffers and Bro. Billy Lowe officiating.  Music will be provided by the Singing Hambys, and Mike Hamby.

Graveside service will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 12 p.m. in the Fairview Memorial Gardens.  Pallbearers will be:  Craig Hatfield, Chad Hatfield, Keith Murley, Danny Boshears, Kevin Smith and Danny Smith.  Honorary pallbearer will be:  Randy Burke.
