Chris - I am so sorry to learn your Mom died. I had not heard from her since you last emailed for her when she was in the hospital. Judy and I taught together for many years at Millersville. What a wonderful lady. We made it through your teen years together....something you and Beth can understand now that you have teens! Zach and Ethan were a great joy to Judy. She loved when they would visit her in Tennessee. It is tough to loose your Mom regardless of circumstances. I am so sorry for your lose. Hang on to those better times memories. Rose Malloy

So very sorry to read this, Judy was a wonderful person and will be missed. My prayers are with all the family. The trip to Greece would not have been complete without her. I feel blessed to have been her friend.

I just found out about Judy's passing and you all have my deepest sympathies. She was always so very nice to me and my family and she was always a joy to be around. One of the nicest people I have ever known and I will miss her, even though I saw her very rarely. I am very grateful that I was able to see her and spend some time with her recently when I visited my father, Denny, during his final years. My thoughts and prayers will be with her family and I hope they can take solace in knowing that she was one of the people that made the world a better place and she will be dearly missed.

Judy, Joe, and Chris gave me the happiest days of my life. How do you thank someone for something like that? What a life well-lived! I've certainly never met anyone who brought more smiles and laughter to the world. Until we meet again, Ms. Judy, I'll just say thank you.

Whether it was in a hot air balloon in Australia, on a sheep ranch in New Zealand, a castle in Scotland, panning for gold in Alaska, or in an airport in London, Paris, Atlanta, Houston, Los Angeles, or anywhere in between—she was a barrel of fun. She was too ill to go on the Baltic Cruise in 2008, even though she made reservations and had hopes right up until the departure date. She loved traveling. We talked about a short cruise out of Florida but never made it. She tried her best to help with the Huntsville Senior Citizens Center when it was active-even though it would exhaust her. She loved the Museum at Scott High and fell a couple years ago breaking her arm while working with the landscape flowers there. Three years ago I used her name to bid on some crazy pants at the Boys & Girls Club Hall of Fame and when she “won”, I delivered them to her. She thought that was crazy—but I had a good instructor when it came to crazy. I will miss my traveling buddy. So long Judy Purcell.

It is so hard to put in words, the way I feel about Judith's passing. My heart may be heavy, but just knowing Judith was such a great blessing. She was an angel in disguise. I loved the way she would laugh, her shoulders would scrunch up, and the sound of joy that came from her, would make me smile with joy. She was a blessing to Rick and me. Such a great friend to me and I will miss her so much. Heaven is not going to know what hit them, because Judith will ensure that everyone is having a grand time. Love you Judith for the friend that you were, and the angel that you are. May God bless your family and give them peace.

God bless all the family during this difficult time. Judy was a wonderful person. I loved the stories my sister would tell after one of their adventures when traveling abroad with their group of friends. My son and nephew helped with some construction on her house and she made sure to get a message to me of how much she enjoyed meeting them. No doubt she will be greatly missed.
