Joe M. Duncan Obituary

Joe Melvin Duncan, age 77 of Oneida Passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the Park West Medical Center in Knoxville.

Born in Oneida, TN on July 4, 1940, to the late George and Nancy Cotton Duncan.

He was a retired Coal Miner. Joe enjoyed raising and working with cattle and working in his garden. He dedicated his life to Christ at an early age, and was of the Baptist Faith. He enjoyed watching the various local church services from his home.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Rhonda Sue; brothers, Jerry, John Archie, Earl Jr. and Mountie Duncan; father-in-law, Travis Wright and mother-in-law, Relda Linder Wright.

He is survived by the love of his life his wife, Patricia Sue Wright Duncan; son and best friend, Ronnie Joe and wife Tonya; grandson, Travis Joseph who was his pride and joy; brother, Milford Duncan and wife Wanda of Oneida; four sisters, Linda Crowley and husband Willis of Virginia, Kizzie Duncan, Martha Duncan and Reba Smith and husband Lonnie all of Oneida; special brother-in-law, Teddy Wright of Michigan. He also leaves many nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.

 Friends may visit with the Duncan Family on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 from 6 until 9 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home.

 Funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, January 31 at 12 noon in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Massengale and Bro. Keith Marcum officiating. Music will be provided by Mac and Rita Wright.

 Burial will follow in the Smith-Forbis Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Travis Duncan, Eddie Duncan, Randy Crowley, Bill Crowley, Harold Babb, and Donnie Babb. Honorary pallbearers will be RH Webb, David Webb, James A. Whittenburg and James Phillips.

West-Murley Funeral Home is serving the family of Joe M. Duncan.
