James “Hal” Phillips, age 73 of Winfield, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge, TN.  

Born in Oneida, Tennessee on June 4, 1944, He was the son of the late William Harrison Phillips and Barbara West Phillips.  Hal proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era and also was a member of the Masonic Lodge.  

In addition to his parents he was preceded death by his Grandpa Phillips and Grandpa West.

James is survived by his wife, Linda Phillips; daughter, Tammy Phillips; stepson, Crisman Strunk; step granddaughter, Tera Strunk; sister, Sue Lay and husband Jack; brothers, Bob Phillips wife Mary; Sam Phillips wife Sandy; special friends, Liz Phillips, Paula and Gary Warner and Lisa Scott; his dog, Pepper; grand puppies, Bodie, Bella and Barley; many nieces, nephews, relatives and a lot of good friends.

Friends may visit with the Phillips family on Saturday, August 19, 2017 from 1 p.m. until time of Masonic Service at 1:45 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home provided by Masonic Lodge #695 of Oneida.  The Memorial Service will follow with Bro. Philip Kazee officiating.

Hal’s wishes were cremation.
