Glen Jeffers Obituary

 

Glen Curtis Jeffers, age 86 of Letner Road in Helenwood, Tennessee went home with a band of angels to be with Jesus on Thursday, February 8, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born December 16, 1931 in Scott County, TN to the late Wilbert J. Jeffers and Lucy Thelma Boshears Jeffers.  He was preceded in death by his sisters:  Bonnie June Lowe and infant Hilda Jean Jeffers; brothers:  infant Ronald Jasper Jeffers, Jaymon H. Jeffers, Wayford “Pete” Jeffers, and Leonard Lantie Jeffers; sisters-in-law:  Mary Jeffers, Mary Helen Davis and Mabel Pannell; brother-in-law:  Bobby L. Phillips.  

He was a born again Christian and attended the First Baptist Church of Robbins, and was a U. S. Army Veteran.

Glen is survived by his wife of 63.5 years, Pearl Rose Phillips Jeffers; daughters:  Carrie Sue and husband, Jerry D. Posey of Oneida, Mary Helen Phillips and husband Danny of Helenwood; son:  Glen Stephen Jeffers and wife Bridget of Oneida; 5 grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren; brother:  Charles P. Jeffers and wife Sandy Jeffers of Oneida; sisters-in-law:  Judy Jeffers of Knightstown, IN, Christine Jeffers of Clinton, TN, June Hanauer of Angola, IN, Fanny Cross of LaFollette, TN, and Rose Phillips of Oneida, TN; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.  The family would like to extend a special thanks to his main caregivers:  Sandy Warren and Brittany Bowling, whom he loved dearly.

Friends may visit with the Jeffers family on Saturday, February 10, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Smithers officiating.  Music will be provided by Shepherd’s Way.

Burial will follow in the Cotton Cemetery in the Cherry Fork Community with full Military Honors conducted by the American Legion Post #136 of Oneida.  Pallbearers will be Jerry C. Posey, Riley Armstrong, Daniel Prewitt, Adam Jeffers, Tim Claiborne and Michael Phillips.
