Donnie "Rupe" Wilson

Donnie “Rupe” Wilson, age 59 of Oneida, TN passed away on March 22, 2018 at his home after a short illness.

Donnie was born on December 21, 1958 in Scott County to Robert L Wilson and Mildred Wilson. He graduated from Oneida High School.  He was an accomplished drummer and song writer, who performed with various bands at many different venues.  His love for music was only equaled by his love for God, family and his friends. Donnie was known for his kindness and compassion for people. He always had a smile and was content.

Preceded in death by parents, Robert L Wilson and Mildred Wilson and brother, Robert Wilson, Jr.

Survived by sister, Carol Matthews Roberson of Knoxville; Brother, Ronnie Wilson and wife Susan; nephews, Jerry Wade Matthews and wife Fran of Murfreesboro, Mark Matthews and wife Jamie of Oneida, Saylor Wilson of Oneida, Tim Wilson and wife Paula of Ewing, VA, Mark Wilson of Lexington, KY, Joey Wilson of Cape Canaveral, FL.; niece, Tobey Phillips and husband Tim of Helenwood; great nieces and nephews, Jarrett, Jaelyn, Chloe, Sophie and Lilly

Special friends and loved ones whose lives were touched by Donnie are mourning his loss, but are rejoicing for his presence with the Lord.

Friends may visit with the Wilson family on Sunday, March 25, 2018 from 1 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Wayne King and Jerry Wade Matthews officiating.

Music be provided by Marcy Thomas and John V. Thompson, Jr,

Burial will follow in the Hazel Valley Memorial Cemetery.
