Dollie Ann (Jackson) Burk, age 71, of the Pine Hill Community, passed away Monday, January 22, 2018 at Tennova North Hospital in Knoxville, TN. She was born on September 23, 1946 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Henry Roscoe and Mary Sue (Proffitt) Jackson. She was a faithful member, pianist, and pastor’s wife at Mt. Pleasant United Baptist Church in Strunk, KY. She also enjoyed teaching Sunday School at each church where her husband pastored through the years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant sister, Sheila Jackson, father-in-law, Ovia Burk, sisters-in-law Barbara Jean Burk and Winnie Faye Burk, brother-in-law, Darrell Brown, and nephew Kenneth Gilreath.
She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Norman Burk, 3 children: Mary Hamby & husband Steve of Helenwood, Matthew Burk & wife Nikki, and Jennifer Goodman & husband Tony, all of Oneida. 10 grandchildren, who were her pride and joy: Jordan Hamby & Staci Hamby of Helenwood, Dalton Goodman, Noah Goodman, Lily Goodman, Praylee Burk, Destiny Burk, Larissa Burk, Jackson Burk, and Jacob Burk, all of Oneida.
She is survived by: brother Rev. George Jackson of Blanchester, OH, one sister Emma Gentry & husband Don, and nieces Susan Wells & husband Larry, Sheila Gardner & husband Matt, all of Cincinnati, OH. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Bernis Burk and sister-in-law, Murlene (Burk) Brown, both of Norwood, OH; niece Tijuana (Brown) Patton & husband Jeff of OH, two nephews Jeffery Gilreath of KY & Nathaniel Burk of OH; several other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends; also, special friends: Temple Duncan, Wanda Strunk, Kaye Burke, Marilyn Duncan, Velma King and Maudie Blevins.
Dollie was a sweet, loving, and kind-hearted woman who loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and served Him faithfully. She loved everyone, and anyone that ever met her certainly loved her.
Friends may visit with the Burk family on Friday, January 26, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Keith Marcum and Bro. Willis Troxell officiating. Music will be provided by the Singing Hambys and Jordan Hamby.
Graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. in the Pine Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Matthew Burk, Jordan Hamby, Steve Hamby, Dalton Goodman, Tony Goodman and Noah Goodman. Honorary Pallbearers are: Jesse Burke, Luther Burk, Morris Stephens, David Burchfield, Robbie Vaughn and Wayne King.
