David (Duck) Sexton, age 67, of Helenwood passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the St. Thomas West Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee surrounded by his loving wife, children, and grandchildren.  Born on May 8, 1950 in Oneida, Tennessee to the late Rodrick and Delmarie Pike Sexton, Duck was a born-again child of God.  He was an avid gardener, retired from Norfolk and Southern railroad after 30 years, and loved nothing more than spoiling and telling stories to his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by granddaughter, Mary Elizabeth Sexton; grandson, Riley Cotton; and sister-in-law, Angie Sexton.

Duck is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Betty Sexton; ten children, Rosetta Allen (Hoss), David Sexton, Jr., Christina Sexton (Kenny McGee), Jennifer Sexton (Dale Brummett), Mark Sexton (Holly), Travis Sexton (Andi), Lana Sexton (Zac), Martha Jane Smith (Mike), Joy Sexton (Lorenza), Keven Sexton (Autumn); 33 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Donald Sexton; sister, Sheila Kay Sexton; special friends, Homer and Ann Goodman; and many, many other relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the Sexton family on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 from 6 p.m. until time of funeral service at 8 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Milford Terry and Bro. Wayne Sexton officiating. 

A private family graveside service will be held.
