Mrs. Brenda Sue Mason Byrd, age 71, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2018 surrounded by her family and friends at her home in Huntsville, TN. Born January 25, 1947 in Smoky Junction, she was the daughter of the late Bill and Irma Lee Lowe Mason. Mrs. Byrd was a member of the Riverview Missionary Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by grandparents: Virgil and Bessie Lowe; mother-in-law Flossie Byrd; father-in-law Oliver Byrd; daughter: Debra Ann Lowe; sister: Cleta Potter and husband Sam; infant brother: Cletus Ray Mason; brothers-in-law: Odie Byrd, Odeva Byrd and wife Faye, and Greg Robinson; sisters-in-law: Julie Hatfield and husband Walter, Deanna Lawson and husband Delmer Gene, Jean Byrd, and Glenna Scott.

She is survived by her husband: Mack Byrd; children: Durenda and Ciara Byrd and Jarome Byrd, special grandson who she raised as her own; grandchildren: Justin, Jordan, Jacob and wife Kayla, Sasha and husband Josh, Shay, Jarome and Jazmine; great-grandchildren: Kaylin, Evan, Mekenzie, Maddox, Macy, Madison and Maylee; sisters: Ginger Byrd, Nannie Hatfield and husband Loy, Myrtle Lowe and husband Roger, Lynn Hatfield and husband Shane, and Kathy Mason; brother: Hedrick Mason and wife Bridget; sisters-in-law: Shelia Robinson, Mae Arms and husband George; brothers-in-law: Daniel Byrd and Bud Scott; and many special nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Sabrina Chambers, Brenda’s caregiver and special friend to us all. Your kindness will never be forgotten. We would also like to thank hospice nurses, Rhonda Paulsen and Brenda Smith.

Friends may visit with the Byrd family on Monday, February 12, 2018 from 5:30 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 8 p.m. in the chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Carlie Duncan, Bro. Edmond Lowe and Bro. Rhondy Mason officiating. Music will be provided by the Mason Family, Rhondy and Lois Mason.

Burial will be in the Smokey Creek Cemetery on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.  THE FUNERAL PROCESSION WILL BE DEPARTING THE FUNERAL HOME AT 10:00 a.m.  Pallbearers will be: Benton Byrd, Brandon Potter, Eddie Mason, Alex Lowe, Josh Douglas, Jacob Lowe and Jordan Lowe. Honorary Pallbearers will be Hedrick Mason, Ricky Byrd, Dusty Hatfield, Shane Hatfield, Loy Hatfield, Roger Lowe, and George Arms.
