Mrs. Betty Hammock, age 79, of the Pine Hill Community in Oneida, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, December 4, 2017 at the North Knoxville Medical Center in Powell, Tennessee.  Born May 24, 1938 in Yamacraw, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Fred C. and Ester West Boyatt.  Betty was a longtime employee of First Trust and Savings Bank and was a devoted member of the Pine Creek United Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son: Charles Hammock II; special nieces: Darlene Stewart and Carolyn Cordell; three infant sisters: Laura Maye, Maude and Anneda; as well as Wilda Faye Boyatt, Beulah Ellis and Mildred Cordell; brothers: Earl H. (Chief) Boyatt and Fred Boyatt Jr.; brothers-in-law: Varoe Ellis and Victory Cordell.

She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years Charles Hammock of Oneida, TN sister: Wanda Woytek and husband Leslie of Reno, NV; sister-in-law: Freddie Joyce Smith and husband Kenneth of Hixon, TN; brothers-in-law: OE Hammock and wife Dorma of Oneida, TN, Bill Hammock and wife Shirley of Maynardville, TN, Joe Hammock and wife Barbara of Kingston, TN; special friend and caregiver Lori Beth Weathers. Betty leaves behind many other relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the Hammock family on Thursday, December 7, 2017 from 12 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Keith Marcum and Bro. Michael Weathers officiating.  Music will be provided by Christel Boyatt and the Pine Creek Choir.

Burial will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be: OE Hammock, Bill Hammock, Joe Hammock, Jabe and Steve Boyatt, and Jordan Chambers.
